About Us

Meet Tucker & Jacquie Nelson

Family-owned. Detail-driven. Built on a life on the water.

Nelson’s Guides & Flies is a Montana-based fly shop and guided fishing operation owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Tucker and Jacquie Nelson. Based on their ranch along Nelson’s Spring Creek, the business is rooted in a hands-on approach—where every detail, from the flies in the shop to the way a day on the river unfolds, reflects their personal standards.

Since 2006, Tucker and Jacquie have been guiding anglers across Montana’s most respected waters, building a reputation for thoughtful instruction, consistent results, and an experience that goes beyond just catching fish.

For them, every guided day is an opportunity to teach, connect, and share a deeper understanding of the water. Rather than simply telling clients what to do, they focus on the why and how behind each decision—helping anglers leave more confident than when they arrived.

“We want our clients to learn something new every time they fish with us.”  — Jacquie Nelson

Guiding Where We Live

Rooted in the land. Guided by the water.

Tucker and Jacquie’s background as ranchers shapes everything they do as guides. Living and working on the land they fish has instilled a deep respect for water, wildlife, and access.

Each trip is guided with conservation in mind, emphasizing responsible angling, limited pressure, and thoughtful use of the resource. Their goal is not just a great day today, but healthy fisheries for generations to come.

This ranch-based perspective is what makes Nelson’s Guides and Flies different. Guests don’t just fish Montana, they experience it as locals do.
